Thanks to the loyal fans who voted
in the movie poll! Looks like one of the consensus top picks
was SHREK as everyone picked it in their top ten, although
no one picking it as the year's best. MEMENTO was highly regarded
also. Waldo and Wally will have their top 10 shortly. FYI,
national critics loved Apocalypse Now Redux, Shrek and Mulholland
Drive as some of their favorites. Rotten-Tomatoes.com's critics
poll lists LORD OF THE RINGS, MONSTER'S INC. and MEMENTO as
favorites(at least ones you've heard of).
And the winner of our 2001 Movie Poll
is...Julie Sanchez!! Julie gets her choice of a free Hooters
dinner, or free Lord of the Rings poster, or free place to
stay in L.A. for a weekend, or a free lap dance at Mons Venus
in Tampa, or 2 free lap dances at Sundowner in Niagra Falls,
Canada. Daww yeah.
Here's the offical ballots by our
fans:
Walt,
Here's my prelim top 10 list,
1 Memento
2 Lord of the Rings
3 Hedwig and the Angry Inch
4 Beautiful Mind
5 Blackhawk Down
6 The Deep End
7 Final Fantasy
8 Life as a House
9 Rush Hour 2
10 Tomb Raider
In fact, these are the only movies
I saw from 2001, otherwise I wouldn't
include the last 2 movies. This may be amended
soon because I plan on
seeing a few more movies and I may switch my top 2 or
3, but this will
do for now.

MAIL BAG:
yo walt, excellent points as usual.
akiva goldman deserves a lot
of punishment -- not only
lost in space but that utter pile of shit known as
batman and robin. I just saw training day this weekend
and yes he does deserve it. Although crowes
performance was magnificnet as well. i always thought
he should have won for the insider and not for
gladiator. though lord of the rings was grand and
technically outstanding I thought peter jackson's
editing choices were utterly piss poor. I hate his
editing in the fights. Only ther last fight sequence
was worth a damn.
