In Production:
Untitled feature film documentary about
the history of the University of Florida Filipino Student Association.
The film tells the story of how 10 party animals created a club
that grew into the largest and most influential asian-american
youth organization in the southeastern U.S. over the past 20
years. The Filipino Student Association at UF, known as FSA,
became an extended family away from home for a few Filipinos
and friends who searched to find their own identity. In the
process, their club transcended racial boundaries and became
both an attitude and a way of life. Their unbridled ambition
and party animal lifestyle lead to an explosion in popularity
on campus, the creation of a Filipino college club network and
a revolutionary change in the perceptions of asian-americans
on campuses throughout the southeast. Over 20 plus years, what
10 people started became a movement that has affected a generation
of Americans that continues to spread to this day.
